In the Serei Saophoan district of Sisophon City, a young man addicted to drugs and his family live. His parents sent him to the centre because he was taking drugs, drinking too much and out of control. However, when he tried to escape, the staff caught up with him and took him back to the camp.
The National Highway 5, which starts in Phnom Penh and ends at the Poipet National Railway, cuts through the district parallel to it, but also acts as a road for drug trafficking and prostitution.
The city is located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, about 30 km northwest of the capital and a few kilometers from the border with Thailand.
Serei Saophoan is a municipality in Banteay Meanchey province and has almost 100,000 inhabitants. The capital of the district is also the provincial capital Sisophon and its Khmer - the capital of the district is magnificent and promising, a city with an area of 1.5 million square meters. In 2015, there were 98,848 people living in the district, according to Cambodia's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
